The position requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to manage stress in a detention environment. Overtime is possible, and the department emphasizes compliance with PREA standards and state regulations.

• Good knowledge of juvenile standards and policies regulating detention facilities.
• Good knowledge of communication and guidance techniques for dealing with youth.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and ensure safety of juveniles in detention.
• Receive juveniles from law enforcement and verify paperwork.
• Explain policies of the Detention Center to juveniles.
• Conduct searches and ensure proper storage of items.
• Notify families of admission and monitor visitation.
• Transport juveniles to courts and facilities per policy.
• Complete daily/weekly reports and logs.
• Respond to emergencies and conduct room searches.
