Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a Detention Intervention Specialist to support the safe operation of the facility by implementing a behavioral intervention program for youths in Safety Based and Disciplinary Seclusion areas.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of related experience, strong written and spoken communication, knowledge of laws governing youth detention, and the ability to clear a background check and drug test.

Qualifications

• Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
• Must pass extensive background investigation and drug testing.

Responsabilités

• Assess youth by evaluating current behavior to determine placement and explain decisions.
• Provide onsite coverage seven days a week in the behavioral management section.
• Determine sanctions and incentives to modify resident behavior and document reports.
• Refer for case consultation and develop plans addressing behavioral needs.
• Diffuse disruptive behaviors using intervention and regulation skills.
• Plan and implement staff development and orientation in coordination with management.
