Job summary

Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center seeks a qualified professional to oversee a quality behavior intervention management program for youths in safety-based and disciplinary seclusion areas. You will assess youth behavior, determine placements, and ensure documentation aligns with guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least one year of related experience, with on-site coverage seven days a week and readiness for a demanding, emotionally challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field.
• One (1) year of work-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess youth by evaluating current behavior to determine appropriate placement and explain decisions.
• Provide onsite coverage seven days a week in the behavioral management section during program hours.
• Determine sanctions and incentives to modify resident behavior and submit incident/statistical reports.
• Recommend referrals for case consultation and develop plans to address behavioral needs.
• Diffuse disruptive behaviors through intervention and regulation skills.
• Plan and implement staff development and new staff orientation with the management team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
