The role involves enforcing facility rules, delivering individual and group counseling, handling crisis situations, and performing back-up duties such as medications, transport, and intake/discharge processing. Must pass background checks and obtain First Aid/CPR within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must pass an extensive background investigation and drug screening.
• Ability to work in a 24-hour detention environment with juveniles.

Responsibilities

• Supervises youths daily in a 24-hour detention facility to ensure health and safety.
• Provides individual and group counseling to youths to promote responsibility.
• Makes crisis decisions in urgent situations and documents actions.
• Disciplines youths per facility rules and records behavior.
• Back-up duties include medications, transportation, intake assessments, and discharges.
• Conducts room checks, inspections, and searches; coordinates activities.
• Transports youths to appointments and participates in daily programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
