Job summary

North Carolina Department of Public Safety is hiring Juvenile Justice Officer Trainees and Youth Counselor Technician I to supervise and assist court-involved youth in Youth Development Centers and Juvenile Detention Centers. The role requires close contact with youths, adherence to safety standards, and participation in treatment programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: associate degree or GED with 2 years related experience.
• Applicants must list all work history and education on the application.
• Shift work is required; 2nd/3rd shift premiums possible.

Responsibilities

• Direct care and supervision of juveniles at centers.
• Housekeeping, restraints, medications, and recreation duties.
• Document safety violations and youth progress updates for the treatment team.
• Rotate day and night shifts as required.
