Job summary

Rising Ground, Inc. is hiring a JYF- Youth Counselor in Queens, NY. The role is full-time with a salary of $21.00–$23.00 annually, focusing on building healthy relationships, safety, and counseling to help youth become productive members of society.

You will supervise youth, manage crises, coordinate with schools and care teams, and ensure compliance with agency regulations. The position requires physical capability and flexibility to work various hours across borough facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED +3 Years of Direct Service in Mental Health or Juvenile Justice Programming.
• Experience in youth services or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to ensure safety of youth at all times.
• Intervenes during emergencies using approved techniques to maintain safety.
• Assists youth in developing positive behavioral changes and routines.
• Supports school hours safety and plans educational and enrichment activities.
• Monitors medical, educational, clinical and casework needs of youth and ensures appointments.
• Completes and submits logs, assessments and incident reports timely.
• Maintains communication with case planners and staff and works varied hours.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and traveling to Rising Ground sites.
