Job summary

City of South El Monte is seeking an energetic Recreation Assistant to support the Recreation Coordinator in delivering youth and community programs, sports, and events. You will help set up facilities, supervise activities, and assist staff and instructors while ensuring park rules and safety.

Candidates must be enrolled in high school (work permit required) or have a GED, hold a valid California Class C driver’s license, and possess First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in high school or have a GED.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Possession of a California Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering recreation programs, youth/adult sports, and special events.
• Help organize and set up facilities, activity areas, and equipment.
• Assist staff and contract instructors and enforce park rules.
• Administer First Aid as needed and report safety concerns.
