Job summary

Hazel Pittman Center invites a motivated Prevention Specialist to support substance use prevention across Chester County. You will work with schools, law enforcement, coalitions, and partners to deliver evidence-based strategies that promote healthier youth, families, and communities.

The role focuses on education, empowerment, and public health approaches to prevention, with responsibilities spanning programming, training, reporting, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, public health, or related field.
• At least one year of experience in prevention or related work, preferably including public speaking or community education.
• Experience working with youth, schools, or community-based organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ATOD prevention programming to youth using evidence-based curricula.
• Apply prevention and public health theories to tailored programs.
• Develop and implement environmental prevention strategies with law enforcement and partners.
• Provide education and training to retailers and servers.
• Train youth as peer leaders and health educators.
