Job summary

Rainier Athletes is seeking a Community Coordinator to bridge students, mentors, families, teachers, coaches, and RA’s community partners. You will mobilize the RA village, support 4th through 8th grade students and their families, and serve as Site Lead for 2+ schools, coordinating programming with mentors, staff and schools.

The role emphasizes culturally responsive communication, energy management, and the ability to work evenings or weekends as needed to nurture a thriving RA mentoring

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in youth development or mentoring in non-profit settings.
• Experience in multicultural environments and mentoring youth or with a non-profit organization.
• Passionate about building meaningful relationships with students, families, teachers, coaches, mentors and partners.
• Strong communication, tact, integrity, and discretion with confidential information.
• Team player open to feedback and learning new software.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends and handle administrative tasks using spreadsheets and reports.
• Proficient in MS Office, Google Sheets, and Smartsheets.
• Spanish, Arabic or other languages in addition to English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Community Coordinator for 4th–8th grade RA students and families.
• Co-lead mentor onboarding and trainings with the Community Team that foster safe, positive, and culturally responsive mentor-mentee relationships.
• Coordinate programming with mentors, teachers, building administration, students, and families.
• Maintain regular communication with families and RA to align commitments and adapt to needs.
• Coach and support mentors in strengthening connections with students, families, coaches, and teachers.
• Provide equitable RA experiences across communities and support site lead duties for multiple schools.
