Job summary

Central Rock Gym in Watertown, MA is seeking a Coach to foster a fun and welcoming environment for youth athletes by introducing climbing fundamentals, building a strong base, and developing a solid curriculum.

You will lead practices, complete SafeSport training for youth coaches, and ensure consistent communication with coaching staff about scheduling and athlete progress. A minimum of two years climbing experience and top rope belay proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with youth in an educational setting.
• Strong behavior management skills with youth of all ages.
• Proficiency in top rope belaying.
• Excellent in-person and remote communication.
• Ability to analyze movement and provide insightful feedback.

Responsibilities

• Regularly leading practices with confidence.
• Completion of SafeSport training for youth coaches.
• Strict adherence to our coaches’ code of conduct.
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans.
• Consistent communication with coaching staff regarding scheduling, practice, and athlete progress.
• Other duties as required.
