Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an energetic Cheerleading Dance Instructor to engage youth ages 4-12 at the Dorchester YMCA with engaging, safe dance instruction. The role emphasizes confidence-building, dance skills and positive relationships within a YMCA youth development framework.

The position is part-time (5–10 hours per week), afternoons and weekends preferred, with training in CPR/AED and First Aid provided within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth and teens.
• Experienced in one or multiple dance forms.
• Ability to work as part of a staff team.
• Ability to cultivate relationships and communicate effectively with adults, youth and teens.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (provided within 90 days).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement dance instruction for various age groups.
• Create and perform dance routines in collaboration with other instructors.
• Provide feedback to participants on technique.
• Grow the skill and confidence of participants.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, youth-centric environment.
