Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Career Transition Specialist to support CTS assignees through job search, placement, and retention, reporting to the OA/CTS Manager. You will manage caseloads, conduct interviews, and coordinate with schools, military, and community resources.

You will deliver workshops, assist with job fairs, and ensure documentation and compliance while guiding students toward successful workforce transitions. This role emphasizes career readiness and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field.
• Associates degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field and two years related experience.
• Prefer Job Corps experience
• Sound knowledge of case management, career counseling, employment counseling and job search, and development techniques.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and abides by Covenant Learning Solutions Core Values and operating principles.
• Conducts interviews with students preparing to exit the center and focuses on job search techniques.
• Creates and maintains a caseload of active assignee files with regular contact and documentation.
• Attends meetings that involve Career Transition student/process issues.
• Visits classrooms and trade shops to familiarize students with CTS processes and opportunities.
• Provides workshops to exiting students and assists with job fairs and career days.
• Maintains linkages with military services, One Stops and other external resources; secures and posts job leads.
• Ensures necessary licenses, certificates, transcripts and documents are completed prior to exit.
• Ensures accurate contact information and transfers for relocating students.
• Identifies support services needed for independent living and maintains a resource center.
• Participates in the Career Assessment Panel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
