Job summary

JVS Boston is seeking a Young Adult Career Navigator to deliver innovative workforce development services to opportunity youth (ages 18–24) at the MassHire Downtown Boston Career Center. The Navigator will engage youth from diverse backgrounds to explore career pathways, conduct successful job searches, and obtain employment or education placements.

The role combines 1:1 coaching, outreach, workshops, and community engagement across onsite, offsite, and remote settings.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required with two years of hands-on experience in youth development, career counseling, case management, recruitment, education, coaching, or counseling.
• Experience with young adults (ages 18–24) strongly preferred.
• Teaching or public speaking skills required; advanced computer and technology proficiency including MS Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, high-touch 1:1 career coaching virtually, onsite, and at partner locations as needed.
• Recruit and enroll opportunity youth via warm handoffs and referrals, maintaining an active caseload.
• Design and lead welcome sessions, workshops, center tours, and group visits for youth.
• Create and post age-appropriate materials and social media content to promote events.
• Perform administrative tasks and support job fairs and partner collaboration.
