Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Childcare Worker to provide safe, caring supervision for children while families attend Mass or parish activities.

This role emphasizes creating a welcoming, nurturing environment with age-appropriate activities and strict adherence to safety and confidentiality. You will support lead childcare staff, supervise behavior, assist with setup and cleanup, and follow all parish and diocesan policies, including background checks and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; candidates with relevant childcare experience may be considered.
• Previous childcare experience in church, school or camp settings is preferred.
• Must complete parish and diocesan background checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Child supervision to keep children safe, engaged, and monitored.
• Assist with age-appropriate games, crafts, stories, and activities.
• Support meeting basic needs with patience and care.
• Maintain a clean, organized childcare space and setup/cleanup before/after sessions.
• Follow parish procedures for check-in/out and safety.
