Cornerstones of Care in Kansas City, MO is seeking a full-time Youth Care Specialist to supervise clients in daily activities, teach new skills, ensure safety, and support behavior management in our residential program.

The role involves planning activities, documenting client information, and coordinating with the Youth Behavioral Health Specialist Manager. Flexible schedules are available, and applicants must meet licensing and background-check requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and background check.
• Bachelor’s degree in social services, child development, or criminal justice preferred.
• At least 21 years of age and pass background check, physical, and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license with proof of insurance and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and safety of all clients.
• Use behavior management techniques to guide children’s behavior.
• Build healthy relationships and be a positive role model.
• Structure activities aligned with the child’s treatment plan.
• Create group activities and conduct psycho-educational groups.
• Assist in medication administration and other medical support as needed.
• Review and write all required documentation.
• Teach and help clients develop age-appropriate daily life skills.
• Provide 24-hour awake supervision.
• Assist the classroom teacher with duties when required.
• Manage clients courteously and tactfully on agency property.

We are seeking a full-time Youth Care Specialist to join our team. Your role will oversee clients in daily activities while teaching new skills, ensuring safety, and managing behaviors. Plan activities, reinforce treatment plans, and document all client-related information. As a member of the Residential team, you will work with other team members and report to our Youth Behavioral Health Specialist Manager. Multiple schedule options available.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision and safety of all clients.
• Use behavior management techniques to guide children’s behavior.
• Build healthy relationships with clients and serve as a role model of healthy behaviors.
• Use a working knowledge of the child’s treatment plan and objectives to structure activities that support that plan.
• Creatively structure activities for groups and conduct psycho‑educational groups.
• Assist in medication administration and other medical support as needed.
• Review and write all required documentation.
• Teach, guide, and assist the client in age‑appropriate daily life skills.
• Provide 24‑hour awake supervision.
• Assist the classroom teacher with classroom duties when required.
• Manage clients courteously and tactfully while on agency property.
