Job summary

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid Michigan Vehicle Operator's License is required.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in working with delinquent children in a youth-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provides secure custody of detention home residents and prevents unauthorized entry using monitoring systems.
  • Attends to scheduled room checks and monitors wards in their rooms.
  • Maintains control station, logs information, and handles incoming calls.
  • Tends to personal needs of wards and manages access to rooms and supplies.
  • Checks for contraband, enforces detention rules, and communicates daily activity to the next shift.
  • Processes admissions, arranges placement, prepares rooms, and handles related paperwork.
  • Interacts with law enforcement during admissions and escorts wards as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
