Job summary

Hoyleton Youth & Family Services seeks a Residential Youth Care Worker to deliver structured daily therapeutic programming for youth under supervision. You will engage youth in meaningful interactions and skill-building activities, documenting interventions per Medicaid Rule 140.

Using the CARE practice model and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), you will foster positive relationships, ensure safety, participate in supervision, trainings, and bedside checks during overnight shifts,

Qualifications

• Basic first aid and medical needs recognition.
• Ability to learn CARE and implement daily programming.
• Ability to learn and pass TCI tests and refresher training.
• Complete CARE training and annual TCI recertification.
• Stay awake and alert for scheduled shifts to ensure safety.
• Engage youth with empathy and strong interpersonal skills.
• Meet DCFS/CANTS clearance requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to cottage residents to develop cooking and cleaning skills; respond to behavioral issues.
• Maintain accurate records per agency policies and state requirements.
• Engage youth in daily therapeutic activities to build social and life skills.
• Ensure safety of youth, coworkers, and self; build positive relationships.
• Utilize TCI de-escalation techniques and implement restraints when necessary.
• Support relationship repair through TCI Life Space Interviews after crises.
• Document Medicaid-compliant therapeutic interventions daily.
• Plan activity schedules with supervisor and youth for each shift.
• Participate in supervision, staffings, and required trainings.
