Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services, Utah Division of Juvenile Justice and Youth Services (JJYS) is hiring a full-time Youth Services Worker in Cedar City. The role supports youth ordered into JJYS care, coordinates activities, monitors residents and visitors, and works closely with the Control Supervisor to maintain safety.

Qualifications

• Availability to work rotating shifts, days, swing, graveyard, weekends and holidays.
• Candidates 19 years of age or older.
• Candidates with a high school diploma or GED.
• Candidates that speak multiple languages.
• A valid Utah Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with youth ordered into the care and custody of JJYS.
• Monitor visitors and residents within the facility.
• Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth.
• Assist the Control Supervisor by making perimeter checks.
• Resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure safety of staff, clients, and public.
• Participate in New Employee Training and de-escalation training within 90 days.
