Job summary

JJYS Technician I is a part-time, in-office role located in Cache Valley Youth Center. The position supports youth in custody, requiring rotation shifts including nights and weekends, and involves training in de-escalation techniques to ensure safety of staff and youth.

Willingness to work with diverse youth populations and meet background checks is required. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and a Utah driver’s license is beneficial for site operations.

Qualifications

• Willing to work rotating shifts, including graveyard as needed.
• Multilingual candidates encouraged.
• Valid Utah Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with youth ordered into JJYS care and custody.
• Monitor visitors and residents within the facility.
• Schedule and coordinate activities for the youth.
• Assist the Control Supervisor with perimeter checks.
• Resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure staff and client safety.
• Participate in New Employee Training and de-escalation training within 90 days.
