A community service organization in Texas is seeking a Direct Care Counselor to provide a safe and supportive environment for children and adolescents. The role involves supervising youth, maintaining documentation, and fostering positive relationships. Candidates should possess skills in mentorship and life skills education. This position includes various responsibilities aimed at promoting emotional stability and self-esteem in clients, ensuring a loving, stable atmosphere.

• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively.

• Supervise youth at all times.
• Maintain detailed, timely and accurate documentation.
• Interact directly with youth and build positive relationships.
• Assist in planning and executing group activities.
• Positively reinforce children’s efforts and accomplishments.
• Familiarize with each child's history and needs.
• Complete maintenance request forms as needed.
• Ensure safekeeping of belongings.
• Serve meals according to menu or special needs.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Provide life skills education according to curriculum.
• Inform youth about transitional support services.
• Complete inventory of resident’s items.
• Meet all Safety Standards.
• Provide transportation for clients as needed.
• Complete 50 hours of annual training.
• Communicate effectively with incoming staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
