Job summary

Abbott House is seeking a Childcare Counselor to provide direct supervision and daily support for youth in a non-secure setting. You will help youths with routines, school attendance, meals, and personal care while ensuring safety across shifts.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience. You will document incidents, coordinate transport to appointments, and participate in regular staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in child/youth care or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Ensure daily safety and security of the residence and youth.
• Assist residents with daily schedules, routines, hygiene, and meals.
• Take residents to school and assist with homework.
• Monitor residents during activities and keep them in sight.
• Prepare regular written reports (Logs and Critical Incident Reports).
• Manage transportation to court and other destinations.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings.
