Job summary

The Youth Services Center is seeking a part-time Youth Care Worker to supervise and safeguard youth, coordinate daily activities, and assist with intake and paperwork. The role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to enforce center rules across shifts.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, have crisis intervention training, and can communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. The position involves varied hours and adherence to departmental policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Experience working with youth or young adults is required.
• Valid driver's license to operate county vehicle.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth and maintain a safe environment during routines (wake-ups, meals, recreation, study time, bedtime).
• Document and update resident files and paperwork.
• Evaluate behavior, resolve conflicts, and implement treatment plans as directed.
• Transport residents to activities and appointments.
• Dispense medications and provide first aid when needed.
