Job summary

Jewish Community Center Dallas is seeking a Youth Director to develop, implement, and oversee year-round youth programming for children in grades K-6, including Club J and summer activities. The role also serves on Camp Chai leadership during summer, coordinating staff and After Care operations.

The position collaborates with leadership to ensure safe, engaging experiences, exercises independent judgment, and contributes to budgeting and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
• Detail oriented and well organized, with ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance.
• Demonstrate passion and knowledge of social media.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Access.
• Flexible and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
• This position requires independent judgment, initiative, and advanced administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate year-round and seasonal staff.
• Develop onboarding, training, and professional development opportunities for youth and camp staff.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional culture that promotes teamwork and accountability.
• Monitor expenditures and recommend cost-effective use of resources.
• Process payroll, purchase orders, registrations, and program-related administrative functions.
• Maintain accurate records, rosters, schedules, and documentation.
• Collaborate with camp and organizational leadership to ensure safe, engaging youth experiences.
• Represent the organization professionally and positively in all interactions.
