Job summary

The Camas School District is seeking a Camp Counselor to help run community education camps for youth and teens. You will assist with daily activities, ensure safety, and help guide behavior under the supervision of the CCE Coordinator/JWR Program Director. A valid CPR/First Aid certification and previous childcare experience are preferred.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff and families, documentation of incidents, and active participation in camp events and field trips as needed.

Qualifications

• Acquire and maintain first aid/CPR certification.
• Experience working with children in childcare or educational settings.
• Food handler's card preferred.
• Proof of MMR vaccination.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Director/Lead Camp Counselor to implement camp activities for youth and teen clubs on a daily basis.
• Supervise, maintain discipline and manage behavior with all youth and teen campers.
• Maintain safety for all campers and staff; learn and implement safety procedures.
• Provide first aid as needed; document accidents with reports.
• Communicate camp information and choices with parents/students regularly.
• Participate in all camp events and assist on field trips as assigned.
