Job summary

Camas School District is seeking a Camp Counselor Class II to support Community Education camps. Under the supervision of the CCE Coordinator and JWR Program Director, you will help plan daily activities, supervise youth, and ensure a safe, engaging environment.

You will collaborate with staff to deliver programming, maintain records, provide first aid when needed (CPR certified), communicate with parents, and participate in camp events and field trips.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable.
• Must have or obtain first aid CPR certification.
• Food handler's card is preferred.
• Proof of MMR vaccination is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Director/Lead Camp Counselor to implement daily camp activities.
• Supervise and manage behavior of youth and teen campers.
• Seek assistance from leaders as needed.
• Maintain camper safety and learn/implement safety procedures.
• Document accidents and provide reports when required.
• Provide first aid as needed with current CPR certification.
• Develop weekly activities for youth/teen clubs.
• Build positive relationships with campers and parents.
• Communicate camp information with parents and students regularly.
• Engage with youth, parents, and staff in daily activities.
• Participate in overall evaluation of camp programs.
• Take part in all camp events designated by leadership.
• Assist on field trips as assigned.
• Perform other duties as directed by CCE Coordinator or JWR Director.
