Job summary

The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking a Specialized Behavioral Health Consultant (SBHC) to work in the Regional Office within the statewide SAMH program. The SBHC serves as a clinical expert addressing youth behavioral health needs and coordinating care within child welfare and community systems.

Responsibilities include collaboration with CPIs, law enforcement, schools, and providers to ensure timely access to services; data reporting; and crisis response across the state.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health or human services.
• Florida license in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, family and marriage therapy or MCAP.
• Minimum three years of experience treating substance use disorders.
• Working knowledge of child welfare and behavioral health systems.
• Valid Class E Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical consults with CPIs and coordinate youth behavioral health care.
• Build partnerships with law enforcement, schools, ME, managed care plans, and community partners.
• Oversee and coordinate care, track follow-ups and report data.
• Participate in multidisciplinary staffing and crisis planning.
