Job summary

Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking a Behavioral Health Consultant to provide expert clinical support within the child welfare system. The role focuses on identifying behavioral health needs, engaging families, and linking them to substance use disorder treatment and recovery supports, including MAT where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Florida license in psychology, social work, LMHC or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years' experience treating substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of the child welfare and behavioral health systems and how they impact parenting and child safety.
• Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Consult and collaborate with CPI and dependency case managers to identify behavioral health needs and enhance engagement and access to treatment.
• Provide in-field and office-based consultation during investigations, including joint visits and guidance on best practices.
• Coordinate with behavioral health providers and the Managing Entity to connect families to appropriate levels of care.
• Document cases and participate in staffings, meetings, and multidisciplinary reviews.
