Job summary

St. Clair County in Michigan seeks an At-Risk Youth Worker to supervise and support youth within a Behavioral Management setting.

You will assist in program implementation, enforce rules, provide positive and negative reinforcements, and act as a role model for students, staff and visitors. The role requires collaboration with education, clinical staff and probation officers, reporting incidents, maintaining safety, and transporting youth to appointments and activities while upholding county

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in child development, criminal justice, education, psychology, sociology or related field preferred.
• Associates degree in a related field preferred (Child Development, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work).
• 1–3 years of responsible work experience; experience with at-risk or delinquent youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth to ensure safety and orderly program operations.
• Report suspected abuse or neglect immediately.
• Maintain youth progress records and prepare required documentation for probation officers, clinicians, and others.
• Provide emotional supports and intervene in crisis situations.
• Transport youth to appointments, court, and activities.
• Model professional interactions and enforce program policies.
