Job summary

Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) seeks a Behavior Modification Technician for its DC program. You will work with clinicians to develop behavior plans, implement structured programming, and provide crisis support to youth in care.

The role requires crisis intervention skills, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. This full-time position supports youths aged 13-21 in a therapeutic group home setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, psychology or another relevant Human Services field preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the human service field, preferably with adolescents/young adults.
  • Competency in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Clinician to create Behavior Modification and Management Plans for clients.
  • Support structured programming focused on coping skills and mental health; assist with anger management trainings.
  • Use behavior management techniques to guide appropriate client behaviors in the group home.
  • Respond quickly to immediate needs and escalating behaviors to ensure safety.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to stabilize clients for a safe environment.
  • Support staff by providing tools to help residents develop routines and structures.
  • Maintain confidential case files and complete documentation within 24–48 hours of service.
