Job summary

Deerfield Park District is seeking a Youth Basketball Supervisor to oversee gym operations during youth games, set up equipment, and help ensure safety.

You will pick up supplies at Sachs Recreation Center, keep score, manage baskets, inflate balls, and return items after games. This part-time role requires teamwork and customer service, with weekend hours and a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the building during youth basketball games.
• Set up gym for games and arrange chairs/tables.
• Keep score and operate the scoreboard during games.
• Inflate basketballs and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Return supplies to Sachs Recreation Center after events.
• Provide professional, high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
• Follow Deerfield Park District policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Youth Basketball Supervisor

Supervises the building during youth basketball games. Picks-up supplies at the Sachs Recreation Center. Sets up school gym for games. Keeps score during the games. After games, cleans up the gym and puts away the equipment, returns supplies to the Sachs Recreation Center.

Scheduled: Saturdays 9:00AM-5:00PM

Pay rate: $18.00

Essential Functions Include

• Pick-up supplies from the Sachs Recreation Center.
• Set up school gym for basketball games. Set up chairs for benches. Set up table to keep score at. Make sure baskets are down and gym floor is cleaned.
• Make sure basketballs are inflated.
• Keep score and run the scoreboard during games.
• Make sure gym is clean and safe before games begin.
• After all games are completed, clean the gym, put away chairs and table.
• Return supplies to the Sachs Recreation Center.
• Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer.
• Follow the Deerfield Park District policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Maintains good safety and awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those contacted during work at all levels, including a culturally diverse public with a focus on safety and quality customer service

Wage Range

$18 -$20, starting pay at the base of range.
