You will oversee game-day activities, assist with setup and breakdown, and ensure athletes, referees, and families have a positive experience while upholding YMCA core values. The role emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and proactive safety reporting to keep environments inclusive and welcoming for all participants during busy game

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in youth sports.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Be present at scheduled Youth Basketball and Men’s League games.
• Support onsite league operations, including setup, supervision, and breakdown.
• Promote and model the YMCA’s core values of Honesty, Responsibility, Respect, and Caring.
• Communicate effectively with parents, participants, referees, and staff to maintain a positive and organized environment.
• Identify and report any safety or behavioral concerns immediately to the Manager of Basketball & League Operations.
• Track and document any incidents or facility issues during game days.
• Ensure all necessary equipment is properly set up, in working order, and returned after use.
• Assist with parent days, special events, or other department initiatives as assigned.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers and mandated abuse reporting requirements.
