Job summary

The Merrimack Valley YMCA is seeking a Referee/Coach to officiate youth basketball games under the supervision of the Sports Director. You will enforce rules, provide safe, fun, and educational sessions, and mentor participants.

This role emphasizes professionalism, role modeling, CPR/First Aid readiness, and flexible scheduling; you will help maintain a positive atmosphere and uphold YMCA core values.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Maintain current CPR certification and First Aid.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with children, parents and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Officiate youth basketball games according to YMCA rules.
• Provide energetic, safe, and educational coaching to participants.
• Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Support event setup, cleanup, and staff meetings as required.
