Job summary

YMCA of Greater Hartford seeks a Basketball Referee I Non-Certified to support Youth Sports operations in Connecticut. You will officiate games, enforce rules, and help maintain a safe, engaging environment for participants and spectators.

Under the Wellness Director's supervision, you will complete reports, adapt to different game situations, and uphold the YMCA mission. CPR/First Aid certification is required within 30 days of hire, and prior officiating experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rules and regulations for assigned game/sport.
• Previous officiating experience for the sport.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activity.
• Ability to adapt to changing conditions while officiating.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain order among participants.
• Ability to handle feedback professionally.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Referee assigned game(s).
• Enforce rules and regulations of the game(s).
• Assist site supervisor in maintaining orderly and fun atmosphere for game(s).
• Maintain game records and information as directed by supervisor.
• Ensure safety is a priority at all times.
• Know emergency procedures and demonstrate them.
• Complete accident/incident reports as necessary and submit to supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff.
• Support the YMCA mission and values.
