Job summary

Sioux Falls YMCA is hiring a Gym Supervisor to oversee youth sports spaces, ensure safety, and support coaches and families during programs. This hourly, part-time role focuses on smooth game transitions and a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

You will open/close the gym, manage equipment, enforce timings, and report scores. Strong reliability, respect for diverse groups, and commitment to YMCA values are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background check.
• CPR training required (YMCA will lead after hire and you will be paid for training).
• Familiarity with the YMCA Basketball Program, mission and values preferred.
• Confident and professional when engaging with diverse groups.
• Trustworthy and dependable with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Open/close the gym 30 minutes before and after programs.
• Set up and manage equipment (scoreboards, clocks, chairs).
• Enforce program start/stop times and YMCA safety policies.
• Return gym to a clean, orderly condition and secure facility at shift end.
• Record and report game scores within 12 hours after shift.
• Maintain positive communication with coaches and players.
• Other duties as assigned.
