Job summary

Valparaiso Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Gym Supervisor to support the Sports team by ensuring members have positive interactions and a safe gym environment. The role involves supervising gym usage, resolving conflicts, and maintaining adherence to Y policies.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, prior supervisory and customer service experience, and current CPR/AED/First Aid certification. Evening and weekend hours are required, with a starting rate of $12 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• 1 year customer service or building supervision experience preferred.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise member and program use of gymnasium with security, problem-solving and behavior management.
• Intercede when behaviors do not meet Y guidelines.
• Contact police when/if needed in collaboration with Members Services Leads.
• Set standard and provide exemplary member relationship building and experience.
• Provide a presence in the facility, connect with members and resolve conflicts.
