Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City invites applications for the Manager, Sports and Recreation (Youth Baseball and Softball). This role oversees day-to-day operations of baseball/softball leagues, league administration, scheduling, registration, staffing and communications with families and coaches.

You will recruit, train, supervise and evaluate part-time and seasonal staff, ensure safety and youth protections, manage budgets, and collaborate with Marketing to promote

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience as Director, Supervisor or Manager of a Sports and Recreation program
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Sports Administration, Business Administration, or related field
• Baseball/softball coaching or administrative experience preferred
• Entrepreneurial approach to running a facility, ownership and growth mindset
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with technology related to finances, CRM, and staff management
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends during peak season

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Sports & Recreation to advance the mission and goals
• Oversee day-to-day operations of baseball and softball leagues
• Coach/supervise clinics, programs, and camps
• Maintain baseball/softball equipment and program supplies
• Coordinate field and facility readiness and weather communications
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate seasonal staff
• Develop training/onboarding for umpires and game supervisors
• Manage league administration: registrations, rosters, schedules, standings and results
• Develop and manage budgets and maximize revenue opportunities
• Partner with Marketing to promote registration and events
• Identify opportunities to increase participation and efficiency
• Plan league programming with internal and community partners
• Create/enforce policies and budgeting for programs
• Monitor youth protection policies and enforcement
• Perform additional duties as assigned
