Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City is seeking a Manager, Sports and Recreation (Youth Baseball and Softball) to oversee day-to-day operations of The J's youth baseball and softball programs, including league administration, scheduling, registration, staffing, and communication.

This role is responsible for program growth, fiscal sustainability, and resource management, including recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of part‑time and seasonal staff, while ensuring

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience as Director, Supervisor or Manager of a Sports and Recreation program or department.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Sports Administration, Business Administration, or relatable field or comparable experience
• Background and experience in baseball and/or softball as a coach or administrator preferred
• Entrepreneurial approach to running a Sports and Recreation facility/program: ownership, growth, and data-driven decisions
• Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends during peak season

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of all baseball and softball leagues, including field assignments, game scheduling, team formations, practice coordination, and game-day logistics.
• Coach or supervise clinics, programs, and camps as needed.
• Maintain baseball and softball equipment and field readiness; manage weather-related changes.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate part-time and seasonal staff.
• Develop budgets for Baseball and Softball and pursue revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with Marketing to promote registration and program updates.
• Ensure youth protection policies and safety standards are followed
