Job summary

The Youth Development Specialist- Arts at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley delivers high-quality arts programs while ensuring youth safety and supervision. Under the direction of the Program Director, you will implement a curriculum-driven arts experience, guide volunteers, and uphold the club’s mission, vision and values to empower members towards success.

Responsibilities include developing and facilitating programs, maintaining safety and cleanliness of art spaces, and supporting youth

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Passion for working with youth.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to Club’s changing needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite and be comfortable adapting to new technology.
• If 21 or older, maintains a valid driver’s license and meets eligibility requirements to drive Club vehicles.
• Safety oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develops, organizes, and facilitates programs and activities utilizing a formal curriculum.
• Directly runs programming and high-yield activities in assigned area.
• Foster creativity and self-expression among youth by encouraging diverse artistic mediums.
• Plan and coordinate art exhibitions and displays to celebrate youth’s achievement and showcase work.
• Administers outcome measurement tools.
• Delivers programs with an enthusiastic, high-energy, positive attitude.
