Job description

You will work alongside a Practice Leader, Practitioner, and a Systemic Practitioner who will help embed systemic and therapeutic concepts into the work of the unit. Together, you will address barriers and issues within children and families’ lives, focusing on their strengths and needs, setting goals, and developing and delivering bespoke, creative, and evidence-based interventions based on collaborative assessments, leveraging the extensive experience within the unit.

Required Qualifications and Skills

You will have:

  1. Experience of delivering evidence-based individual and group interventions to children, young people, and/or adults.
  2. Ability to provide practical support to children, young people, and families, maintaining a positive outlook, demonstrating tenacity, persistence, and compassion, and using these qualities to foster sustainable change.
  3. Experience and ability to build trusting, honest, supportive, and outcome-focused relationships with children and families while maintaining professional boundaries.
Required Experience

As a Youth & Family Support Worker, you will work in Royal Greenwich secondary schools, supporting children and their families. You must be capable of developing supportive and highly effective relationships with children and families.

Responsibilities

The Youth & Family Support Worker role is diverse. In addition to delivering impactful and relational practice, it includes providing support to primary and secondary schools through consultation, role-modeling, and delivering professional development based on our ‘Practice Framework’. This framework is rooted in Systemic Practice and Compassion-Focused approaches and is adopted across Children’s Services in Royal Greenwich. You will be responsible for delivering direct work and interventions, including practical support, that are child and family-centered, ensuring families receive the right services to meet their needs and create lasting positive change. You will be supported by a Practice Leader and a dedicated Practitioner who will provide guidance and support.
