• Must pass a drug screen, DFPS and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and conducts monthly Regional Youth Advisory Council meetings.
• Maintains communications with entity contacts regarding IL activities in the State.
• Serves as primary contact for the State of Texas Independent Living Program Director.
• Maintains contact with DFPS IL liaisons as needed.
• Coordinates activities for State computer camps.
• Coordinates tours to post-secondary education sites.
• Disburses resource and scholarship information.
• Trains staff on Independent Living transition paperwork and timelines.
• Writes and distributes the Independent Living newsletter.
• Provides direct services to youth leaving the child welfare system as requested.
