Job summary

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking an Aggression Replacement Training Specialist to support children exhibiting challenging behaviors in school and community settings.

The role focuses on reducing aggression through targeted social skills practice, anger control, and moral reasoning exercises, delivered via both individual and group sessions. You will coordinate with families and community resources, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a human service field with 2 years post-bachelor experience in a mental health population.
• Meets requirements under 10A NCAC 27G.0104 as a Qualified Professional for Mental Health.
• Minimum one year documented experience with children, adolescents, and families.
• Minimum two years experience within the agency as a Qualified Professional and meeting productivity markers.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services through school interventions to support children in the school setting.
• Diminish aggressive behaviors through targeted practice and role play of social skills and anger control.
• Deliver group-based interventions such as skill building activities and positive behavioral supports.
• Develop a network of referral agency contacts and resources to fulfill clients' socioeconomic needs.
• Engage in all components of Aggression Replacement Training: Social Skills, Anger Control, Moral Reasoning.
• Maintain documentation for accountability and reimbursement and participate in administrative activities.
• Provide school-based interventions to support family preservation and educational goals.
• Conduct one-on-one and group interventions, intervene with positive behavioral supports, and enhance interpersonal skills.
• Possess ability to work in environments with potential hazards and in community settings with valid driver's license.
