Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers seeks an After-School Program Leader Floater to support multiple site locations in Los Angeles, working 1:00 PM–6:00 PM and 20–25 hours weekly.

You will foster a fun, safe learning environment for about 20 children, collaborate with Site Coordinator and Family Liaison, and help deliver inclusive, developmental activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Child Development or Education preferred.
• Availability to work 1:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
• Willingness to travel between assigned program sites (one site per day).
• Experience in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings preferred.
• Experience with K-12 students in academic, recreational, or youth development settings preferred.
• Ability to pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful culture among participants, staff, and families.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities supporting whole-child development.
• Monitor attendance and engagement in program activities.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with Site Coordinator and Program Manager to plan events and activities.
• Request program materials to ensure availability and adhere to budgets.
• Comply with safety procedures and required trainings; participate in field trips as needed.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and submit daily.
• Attend required professional development and staff trainings (~15 hours in spring).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
