Job summary

First Place for Youth in Oakland seeks a Youth Advocate to provide case management, psycho-social assessment, and intervention strategies for transition-age youth. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, mentor youth toward housing stability, sustainable employment, and educational achievement through individualized, strength-based approaches in a mix of on-site and community settings.

The role requires collaboration with county workers, schools, and service providers, with occasional evenings

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social welfare, psychology, or equivalent.
• Eligible to register with BBS as ASW, MFTi, or LPCi; licensure preferred.
• Experience with transition-age youth and trauma-informed care preferred.
• Willingness to work in community settings and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling and crisis intervention.
• Perform case management and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Complete documentation including care plans and progress notes.
• Organize meetings and provide on-call coverage as assigned.
• Support youth toward housing stability, employment, and education goals.
• Collaborate with community providers and keep team informed.
