The Maple St. YMCA is seeking a part-time Childwatch Attendant in Omaha, NE. The role involves supervising children ages 6 weeks to 8 years, creating engaging activities, and fostering a safe, welcoming environment for families.

The position offers a flexible schedule, opportunities to develop skills, a free YMCA membership, and a supportive team in a mission-driven community-focused organization.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Ability to work with children ages 6 weeks – 8 years.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people; bilingual capability is helpful.
• Complete program-specific training and abuse prevention training before first shift.
• Complete YMCA culture training; BLS CPR/AED/First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and pass background check.
• Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.
• Report suspicious behavior and adhere to mandated abuse reporting

Responsibilities

• Organizes, plans, and executes all activities for participating children.
• Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and staff.
• Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
• Follows YMCA policies related to medical, disciplinary situations, abuse prevention and emergencies.
• Maintains program records including attendance.
• Supports fundraising, attends family nights, program activities, staff meetings and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
