Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is seeking a part-time Child Watch Attendant for the Kids Zone. You will care for children ages 12 weeks to 8 years while their parents work out, take a class or spend time at the Y.

Schedule includes weeknights and Saturdays, with one Saturday night a month for Kids Night Out. We offer ongoing training, a free individual YMCA membership, flexible schedules, and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years old.
Certification in Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment (training provided).
Ability, desire, and basic skills to work with children.
Ability to relate to people on all levels in a friendly and consistent manner.
Must reflect a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

Greet each child and family with a smile as they arrive and leave.
Follow sign-out procedures to ensure each child is released only to authorized person.
Care for children ages 12 weeks to 8 years in a safe, clean Kids Zone.
Lead age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts.
Follow health practices, including handwashing and cleaning surfaces and toys.
Keep records of children participating in the program.
Know safety and emergency procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
