Job summary

Northgate Country Club and Walden Golf Club is seeking a Youth Activities Counselor to lead and supervise youth programs, assist in planning family-friendly events, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for children and families at the club.

You will greet members, help with event setup, manage sign-in, supervise play areas, and coordinate activities with managers, while applying club policies and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Knowledge of Outlook and internet applications.
  • Able to work with children and families in a safe, friendly environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift 35+ pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Respond to member questions by providing correct information and answering telephone in professional manner.
  • Assist with set-up, decorations, and safety checks before events.
  • Host and engage children and families in activities, including pool activities, events, camps, and holiday events.
  • Assist parents signing their children in and out and checking identification.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure knowledge of all children’s allergies and special needs.
  • Supervise children and use good judgement when in our care.
  • Assist with handling kids’ meals.
  • Communicate effectively and inform immediate supervisors of any unforeseen circumstances and react appropriately.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and secure locking of children’s playroom.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by managers.

Job Summary

The Youth Activities Counselor is responsible for all activities related to youth activities at the club including but not limited to assist in creating, implementing, and overseeing family friendly events and youth programs, set-up, clean up, and supervising younger members in a safe and friendly way.

Job Duties
  • Greet members and guests in a professional and friendly manner.

Job Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Must possess CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, internet applications, and use of office equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of age-appropriate activities and enjoy working with all age groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, guests, clients, and employees.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills including strong verbal, written and positive interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to project voice and get attention of and cooperation from young members.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • Must work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner.
  • Ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and education levels.
  • Excellent team player with ability to work hands on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry food service trays weighing 35+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop and bend repetitively during entire shift.
  • Ability to speak, read and understand the English language Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
