Job summary

Riverside Community Care in Needham, MA seeks a Peer Mentor to support youths facing mental health challenges. The role relies on lived experience to inspire hope, and to provide peer-to-peer education and modeling of recovery in home, school, and community settings.

The Peer Mentor will guide youths through treatment, help access recovery resources, and collaborate with the clinical team to align with each client’s service plan.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health challenges is required to provide authentic peer support.
• Ability to guide youths through treatment with outreach and advocacy.

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Peer Mentor!

Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns.

In this important role, the Peer Mentor provides strength-based, peer‑to‑peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to youth in a variety of settings, including home, school, community, group home, and other out-of-home settings.

The Peer Mentor will:

• guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach, peer support and advocacy, all in accordance to the client’s individual service plan
• help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
• work in coordination with the clinical team while using his or her recovery experience as a positive model for clients’ process

Schedule:

• 20 hours per week; flexible hours between 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. to meet the needs of the families

Pay Rate:

• High School Diploma:
  • $20.69/hour
  • $21.31/hour with Peer Certification
• Associate or Bachelor Degree
  • $22.28/hour
  • $23.34/hour with Peer Certification
