Job summary

PPM Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Site Manager for a 10-week temporary contract in York. You will oversee two parallel projects, supervise subcontractors, manage daily site activities, and ensure safety and quality compliance across all works.

Applicants should have SMSTS, First Aid, and Fire Marshal certifications, plus a strong health & safety background and excellent coordination skills. VIVO card not required.

Qualifications

• Experience managing site activities and coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Strong Health & Safety background with RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.
• Ability to lead, communicate with stakeholders and manage subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate two projects running side by side, ensuring works stay on programme.
• Supervise subcontractors, trades, and site operatives.
• Coordinate daily site activities, resources, materials and labour.
• Maintain RAMS, permits, and site rules; ensure safety compliance.
• Carry out site inspections and address issues promptly.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards.
• Lead site meetings, toolbox talks and briefings.
