Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in York. In this part-time role, you will provide high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges.

Job Summary

Provide high‑quality support to individuals with intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health and substance use challenges, assisting them to achieve personal goals and live independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in identifying and communicating requests and needs for services and supports.
• Implement services and supports to address goals identified in the Centered Plan.
• Accompany individuals to work, appointments, movies, concerts, and shopping trips.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills such as cooking, personal hygiene, and household tasks.
• Provide transportation and assist with medication reminders and medical appointments.
• Foster positive relationships, advocate, mentor, and serve as a role model and companion.
• Document care activities and maintain accurate records of services provided.
• Work under direction and supervision to accomplish job duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual, developmental, mental health or substance use needs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical ability to lift 30 lb regularly, lift up to 70 lb, pull up to 50 lb, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, stoop, and use hands for handling objects.
• Proficiency in CPR, first aid, and other job‑specific certifications.
• Good communication skills, compassion, reliability, and adaptability.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
