Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking an Activity Leader to care for children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure, ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment. You will foster social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth while interacting with parents to build trust.

You must maintain First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management certifications and embody the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. 18+ and child-friendly demeanor required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with understanding of children's behavior and development.
• Knowledge of age-appropriate activities (crafts, games) and ability to lead group activities.
• Able to use age-appropriate behavior management techniques per YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management within 60–90 days.
• Warm, friendly personality; able to interact and play with children; aligned with YMCA goals.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in Play & Learn/Kids Adventure and provide a safe, nurturing environment.
• Foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth and engage with parents to build trust.
• Supervise participants to ensure safety and support ongoing activities per YMCA guidelines.
